Alton Island - Oblivion

"The year of 1997 was a dark time for Alton Island.  Nemesis had been capturing and corrupting inhabitants of the island at an alarming rate, inhabitants of Thunder Valley were fleeing for their lives, and even one of the island’s local heroes, Hunter Black had been brutally killed at the hands of this monster. With him gone, the island was nearing hysteria, and the public were desperate for something to be done to stop the alien menace.

Finally, a decision was made. The government decided that a new, state of the art research facility needed to be established on the island itself to gather the research needed, and to ultimately stop Nemesis. The location of the facility was to be at a former military base in Springton, on the opposite side of the island from the Forbidden Valley, ensuring that whilst Nemesis could be monitored, he would be unaware of their surveillance.
The main objective of the facility’s construction though was to create a massive weapon, one capable of destroying Nemesis. The first ground works were laid in Springton in late 1997, and the government started its search for the best candidates to actually work at the facility.

Several local people were taken on, including a young woman and serious young man from Festiva. Whilst their experience and knowledge was invaluable, the government knew it would take a special breed to actually conceptualise and oversee the construction of the weapon.

At this point, the government researchers had happened upon their prime candidate: Oliver Mabillard. Oliver was gifted university scholar and was already an established theorist at a leading university. He had written many psychology papers, and his current pursuit came as a result of work on another paper he was writing about universal fear: the concept of perfect non-existence. i.e, being able to erase a being from both history and memory entirely.

The government recruited him and Oliver was given the perfect target to focus his theories on: The destruction of Nemesis. Oliver was codenamed Agent Oblivion, and was stationed as the manager of X Sector. Due to his highly sensitive position as the lead force behind the government’s plan, virtually nobody who meets him (apart from fellow agents) are aware of the gravity of his position, or his importance to the project.

With a team of some of the greatest minds in science and technology working under him, he intends to design and construct the ultimate device: A Secret Weapon capable of annihilating Nemesis from existence entirely."

Like with the last picture, Agent Oblivion's picture is over 4 and a half years old. It desperately needed updating. For one thing, the background was horrible and uninspired. As for the character design, his hair was far too messy and spiky for it to be allowed. His glasses were large enough to completely cover his eyes, which didn't really work. His suit didn't really change, it was just made darker - he got a new suit this year.
The background is very interesting. It includes designs for characters not yet seen, and one not yet finished. As for the other two characters, they both fit in with the X Sector theming to an extent. See if you can figure out how.
