When Corky opened the Thunder Rock Rally racecourse in 1999 he never anticipated how popular it would become. Ug Land became famous for its races, which were more about the experience than the speed. Then in 2005, things changed. A mystery racer turned up one day driving a Bugatti Veyron. They blew the competition away with incredible speeds and impressive manoeuvers around the winding course. It was only afterwards that the racer's identity was known. She was Rita, Queen of Speed. Corky had found a decent challenge at last...
Rita's design is largely based on another Yu-Gi-Oh character, Mai Valentine. One idea behind her was that she had to be very sexual, but I sorta toned that down; if I hadn't, she wouldn't be wearing that orangey top... I did my research, and it turns out the Bugatti Veyron reached production in 2005, the same year that Rita QOS was opened at Alton Towers. Speaking of the Veyron, I suck at drawing realistic cars. Also, notice how Rita and her car have colour schemes similar to the actual ride.
hey thats a good drawing of the bugatti. do they have a life sized model of it or something at alton towers, not sure it has been years since i last went

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
