Derpy's Deliveryby ~TurboJUK

Still in a Friendship is Magic mood, of course. I needed to draw something, and who else but Equestria's most famous mailpony? Nothing will stop her getting her deliveries through. Not snow, storms nor gale. You can always rely on Derpy Hooves to get the job done.

Aside from her eyes, I always see Derpy as a perfectly normal pony. She can speak coherently, she doesn't try to deliver muffins and eat letters, and she is more than capable of caring for her daughter, Dinky.

I really tried to emulate the look of the show here. My usual solid black lines (line tool) are replaced with thick coloured ones (drawn with the line tool, filled in, then black lines removed). I think I did a good job, too.

The logo on her mailbag refers to Royal Mail letterbox logos having the initials of the Monarch on them - [link] In this case, the C stands for Princess Celestia, with the R standing for 'Royal'. At least I think that's what it's meant to be...

Nice rendition of Ditzy/Derpy. I like.

As for Ditzy's mental capacity, the implication seems to be that she's lacking, but not enough to be incapable of taking care of herself and her daughter.

I sometimes wonder if she's like Forrest Gump. Her intellect may not be all that, but her instincts and common sense are always spot-on. As one critic said about Gump, "his heart understands what his intellect can't." That could also be said about Ditzy.

It's also possible, though, that she's just fine except for the lazy eye. I'm hoping she gets a story (or subplot) of her own in a future season, so that we can learn more about this particular pegasi.
